Rainy River District OPP officers are looking forward to hosting “Stuff-A-Cruiser” this Saturday (Dec. 14).
Emergency personnel and community volunteers will be outside of Walmart, Canada Safeway, and The Place in Fort Frances, Cloverleaf Grocery in Emo, and Beaver Mills Market in Rainy River from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Officers will be collecting non-perishable food products in support of the Salvation Army, United Native Friendship Centre, Sunset Country Métis, Emo Food Bank, Rainy River West End Food Bank, and the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau’s annual Community Christmas Dinner.
All items collected will be turned over to these organizations to assist with the goal that everyone in our community is able to enjoy the festive season.
“This year marks the fourth-annual ‘Stuff-A-Cruiser’ event in our district,” said Cst. Anne McCoy.
“Last year we stuffed over 30 cruisers across our district with help from the public, as well as community partners,” she noted.
“This initiative is very important because the quantity received ensures there is a secure food bank supply over the holiday season and takes some pressure off those agencies providing the service well into February,” Cst. McCoy added.
