Under ideal weather conditions this year, the La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary hosted its annual “Strawberry Social” last Thursday (June 16).
The crowds of people and volunteers socialized and enjoyed the food, as well as the plant, bake, book, “Pick a Strawberry,” and “Lucky Dozen” tables.
Most were sold out.
Hundreds of take-out orders also were delivered in the morning, as well as the afternoon.
Winners at the social were Laureen Vandetti (bake table draw) and Janet Lambert, Freeda Carmody, and Lorraine Brown (plant table draw).
“Lucky Dozen” table winners included Maggie Tarrant (purse, wallet, and antique frame), Kathy Harrison (Canada backpack and toys), Sybil Johnson (flower vase), Felix Blasky (necklace and earrings), Lucy Miller (“Cabin at the Lake” table decoration), Dianne Hedgen (spa goodies), Jodi Jewell (Summer Read for Gals), and Dana Kosowick (Summer Read for Guys).
Other winners were Edith Richard (Disney Princess “Sand & Sea” set), Diana Sharp (“Toy Story 3” game set), Faith Adair (“Dora the Explorer” travel pack and clothes), Janette Gavel (Toy Story 3 “Goes to the Beach”), Nicke Baird (hooded beach towel and toys), and Evelyn Metke (fishing lures and clothes).
Double winners included Nancy Witherspoon (cake dish/Canada bag of goodies for gals) and Connie Wood (teddy bear and friends/make-up, hair, and bath delight).
