On Thursday around 12:50 p.m., Rainy River District OPP officers and the Rainy River Ambulance responded to Stratton Service, located on Highway 617 in Stratton, as a result of a workplace accident.
Upon arrival, paramedics located the shop owner, Shawn McDonald, 42, unresponsive in the service bay.
He later was pronounced dead at the scene.
Members of the OPP’s North West Region Forensic Identification Unit, as well as inspectors from the Ministry of Labour, attended Stratton Service yesterday to conduct a joint investigation.
A post-mortem examination was scheduled to take place today (April 29) at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora.
