Storm causes power outages

More than 3,000 Hydro One customers in the west end of the Rainy River District—from Rainy River to Crozier—were without power this morning after a thunderstorm swept through the area overnight.
“It is related to the weather that went through the area in the middle of the night,” confirmed a Hydro One spokesperson, citing a crew was on site trying to get the problem fixed as quickly as possible.
A piece of equipment at the Morson plant was affected during the storm, which caused the power outages.
The estimated time of restoration today was 10 a.m.
