STL planning busy month

The Stratton Toy Library has a full schedule of activities planned for March, including crafts for the Easter season and new items added to the inventory.
Connie Jewett has donated two new toys—a heart-shaped Etch-A-Sketch and an animal play telephone.
The STL will be having a Easter basket draw on March 28 at 10:30 a.m., with tickets costing 3/$1.
Meanwhile, the centre is promoting healthy eating habits that provide energy and nutrients children need to grow, develop, stay healthy, and be active.
Parents can be a role model by eating a healthy, well-balanced diet and promoting a healthy pattern of eating for the entire family.
Never use food as a reward or withhold it as punishment. You also should discourage snacking while watching T.V.
More information is available from the Northwestern Health Unit, which has copies of Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
STL also is offering a first aid course in the evenings of March 7-8. There still are a few openings left so if yours is expired or if you are needing to take this course, call 483-5319.
Also, “Healthy Babies, Healthy Children” milk coupons are available for all pregnant women at the STL or health unit.
The Valentine basket draw, made by Ann Michl, was won by Ashley Nordin. The STL thanks everyone who supported this fundraising event, which raised about $30.
The skate-a-thon held Feb. 16 raised around $220 for the toy library.
Winner of the Christmas draw was Ann Michl. Thanks again to those who bought tickets.
Finally, the STL is taking orders until March 21 for its Avon fundraiser. Catalogues are available from the STL and board members.
The board includes Ann Michl (chair), Shelley McLean (vice-chair), Sheila Jackson (treasurer), and Candy Greengrass (secretary). Directors are Joanne McQuaker, Mary Croswell, Betty Ann Mucke, and Edith Haw.
