Still time to sign up for song-writing workshop

Due to a scheduled power outage on Sunday, Sept. 8, a two-day youth song-writing workshop for youths now will be held on just the one day—Saturday, Sept. 7.
The workshop, to be conducted by local musician and educator Shannon Darby, will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
There will be a break at noon, with lunch provided.
There’s still time to sign up for the workshop.
Darby and the “Friends of the Fort Frances Museum,” which is sponsoring the workshop, still are looking for individuals aged 13-17 to participate.
A maximum of 15 can sign up, with the registration fee being $10.
Deadline to sign up is Thursday, Sept. 5.
To register, call the Fort Frances Museum at 274-7891, e-mail, or drop by the museum in person.
Participants will work together to write music. The process will encourage them to co-operate, collaborate, experiment with creativity, and build individual self-confidence.
Those taking part do not have to have any prior musical experience, but those who do are urged to bring along their own instruments as they can be used during the workshop.
