Stabbing suspect nabbed

A 36-year-old female has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred here yesterday morning.
Fort Frances OPP officers were called to the 600 block of King’s Highway around 8:30 a.m. to investigate the report of a male having been stabbed by a female.
The male, 73, was taken to La Verendrye Hospital, where he was treated and later released, police said in a press release issued this morning.
Detachment officers, with the assistance of the Northwest Region K-9 Unit and Emergency Response Team, eventually located the suspect.
Tina Chiefson, of Naicatchewenin First Nation (Northwest Bay), was charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and forcible confinement, police said.
She was in police custody pending a court appearance this morning.
