St. Mary’s holds annual winter coat drive

With winter already well on its way, St. Mary’s Church is asking people to clean out their closets and donate old and outgrown winter coats to its annual winter coat project.
Organizers are looking for warm winter clothing for men, women, and children. They are looking for coats in all sizes but especially larger-sized ones.
The coats should be in good, wearable condition and relatively clean. They can be dropped off at the St. Mary’s Church basement tomorrow during the day.
Then this Friday, Saturday, and Monday between 1 and 4 p.m., people can drop by the church to pick up the donated coats free of charge.
One of the organizers, who didn’t want to give her name, said the program always has had a very good response.
“There seems to be quite a need out there,” she said Friday. “We just really want to help people.”
With snow already falling, those in need definitely require warm winter clothing now.
