The Riverside Foundation for Health Care Special Event’s Committee is excited to announce things are heading west for this year’s annual spring luncheon.
“Mama’s Gone Country Chic” will be held Saturday, April 27 at 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the upstairs hall at the Emo-La Vallee Community Centre in Emo.
The afternoon will be an opportunity to socialize with friends over a delicious lunch and will feature plenty of ways to support health care close to home, including a penny table, silent auction, pie roulette, and fun games.
Back by popular demand will be “Mama’s Boutique,” which this year will be known as “Mama’s Country Store.”
It will feature homemade items such as preserves, baked goods, and crafts, as well as country-style goods to satisfy everyone’s shopping needs.
The committee currently is seeking donations of country chic items for “Mama’s Country Store.”
These could include jams, jellies, or other preserves, baked goods, plants, crafts and handmade items, gardening items, home décor, and any other new or gently-used items that fits the theme.
If you would like to make a donation, contact Allison Cox at the Foundation Office at 274-4803 (pick-up can be arranged).
Last year, with your generosity, the spring luncheon was able to raise just under $7,000, which went towards the purchase of two couches for the Chemotherapy Unit, as well as an IV pump for the In-patient Unit at La Verendrye General Hospital.
This year, all funds raised through the luncheon will go towards the purchase of a medi-lift for the Emo Health Centre.
Medi-lifts are used to transfer patients or residents between two seated positions, such as from the edge of the bed to a wheelchair or wheelchair to a commode.
Since it is designed to support the upper body of the patient, it greatly reduces the potential for back or shoulder injuries to staff.
Tickets for the luncheon will be available soon, including more information on where they can be purchased.
