Craving hard ice cream after taking a stroll along the La Verendrye Parkway?
Well, this weekend will be your last chance to get some as the Sorting Gap Marina will be closing for the season after Sunday.
It will be open today, tomorrow, and Sunday from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.
The “Hallett” and tower sites on the riverfront, meanwhile, will be open this weekend, but as of tomorrow, they only will be open daily from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Likewise, the Fort Frances Museum will switch to its fall hours tomorrow, and be open daily from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. through to Thanksgiving weekend.
If you are looking for something to do this long weekend, admission to the heritage sites can be paid at the Sorting Gap Marina and the museum.
Paying admission provides access to the “Hallett,” lookout tower, and the museum.
The cost is for $3.60 for adults and $2.60 for seniors and children aged six-12, with kids five and under being free.
There also is a family/group fee of $10.85.
Looking ahead, the museum will switch to its off-season hours after Thanksgiving (Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Admission fees will be waived, but donations are welcomed during the off-season.
At this time, the heritage sites will be closed and reopen next Victoria Day weekend.
In other news, the Fort Frances Public Library Technology Centre will switch to its fall hours starting tomorrow (Sept. 1).
The library now will be open weekdays from 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sundays from 1-4 p.m.
A reminder the library will be closed for Labour Day.
