Victoria Maxwell is set to perform her one-woman show, “Crazy for Life,” tonight at La Place Rendez-Vous, and a limited number of seats are available for members of the public interested in attending.
The show is part of the entertainment being provided for the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Consumer Family Conference being held here this weekend, explained Nancy Daley of the local branch of the CMHA.
“Tonight’s entertainment is a true story in one act, written and performed by Victoria Maxwell,” Daley noted.
“It’s a one-woman show on Victoria’s roller-coaster ride with bipolar disorder and psychosis.
“It’s described as a brave, funny, and compelling look at experiencing, surviving, and coming to terms with mental illness,” she added.
Maxwell is an award-winning actress, playwright, and educator when it comes to speaking about mental illness.
“There’s a lot of humour but a lot of her real lived experience. It’s entertaining as well as educational,” Daley said about the show.
Doors open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8.
While there is no cost to attend, donations will be accepted.
