Those wanting to get a new crocus plant from the Canadian National Institute for the Blind are in luck as the shipment that arrived Tuesday morning at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau hasn’t sold out yet.
“There’s about 70 pots left,” Vanessa Hebert, executive director at the Volunteer Bureau (located in the old CN station), said this morning.
The leftovers are available for purchase until at least Monday, after which the unsold ones will be returned to Thunder Bay sometime next week.
The cost is $4 per pot or three for $10.
Hebert noted 500 pots—each holding five-six imported Dutch crocus bulbs—were ordered for the annual CNIB fundraiser. About 360 of these were pre-ordered, though some have not been picked up yet.
For those who want to drop by and buy a pot, or pick up and pay for their pre-order, the Volunteer Bureau is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Monday-Friday).
Other specialty items from the CNIB—such as note cards and painted pots with a crocus emblem on them—also are available for purchase at the Volunteer Bureau.
