The fire department was called out to Rose Manor here around 2:50 a.m. today after a fire broke out in one of the apartments.
There was “minimal damage,” reported firefighter Dave Crichton.
The fire was quickly extinguished and “everybody was safe again in short order.”
The fire department couldn’t confirm the cause of the blaze but residents at Rose Manor reported it started from a cigarette on mattress.
Two of the residents reportedly worked to suppress the fire until firefighters arrived.
