Six volunteer firefighters take training

The Devlin/La Vallee Volunteer Fire Department had six of its members attend the annual “Fire Con” in Thunder Bay last week.
Jim Belluz, Ken McCormick, Jason Caul, Trevor Mills, Gary Greengrass, and Kelly Sterling all made the trip to attend this highly-intensive training.
Fort Frances Fire Chief Steve Richardson also attended, with representation from our entire district. Firefighters from the Manitoba border all the way to Wawa were on hand, too.
Many courses are offered, including search and rescue, auto extrication, critical incidence stress management, fire cause determination, and intervention training.
There also were several other courses that the volunteers could choose from. Hats off to the firefighters who made the trip in order to make our district a safer place.
