Site confirmed for penny weigh-in

Gather those pennies! The Kenora-Rainy River branch of the Alzheimer Society will be holding its “Penny for your thoughts” weigh-in on Jan. 20-21 at Canadian Tire here.
Executive director Margaret Schonewille said yesterday that everybody is welcome to drop by to have their pennies weighed—and then donated to the Alzheimer Society—from 4-9 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 8:30 a.m.-noon on Jan. 21.
She added the pennies don’t have to rolled—they can be in bags, jars, or other containers (other cash donations will be accepted, but only pennies will be weighed).
There will be a prize for the person who brings in the most pennies.
Last year’s penny weigh-in here totalled $239.
Proceeds from this year’s penny weigh-in will go towards a special wheelchair for Rainycrest Home for the Aged here.
This is designed for Alzheimer patients who have problems with choking when eating or drinking.
