Extending the previously-announced plan to have scheduled shutdowns at the AbitibiBowater mill here due to poor market conditions, the start-up date for paper machines #5 and #7 and the kraft mill has been delayed until Monday, April 13.
The two paper machines and the kraft mill were idled March 22 for what was supposed to be a two-week period ending April 4.
Mill manager John Harrison said this morning that the extended shutdown continues to be due to a lack of orders.
As previously reported, paper machine #6, which was idled at the beginning of March and expected to be back online April 4, now will not be started up until Sunday, May 3.
Harrison noted this date continues to remain the same.
