The District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB) is pleased to announce the re-election of Debbie Ewald as Chair and Andrew Hallikas as Vice Chair by acclamation during the first board meeting of 2024 held on January 18.
The DRRSB delivers Early Learning and Child Care, Ontario Works, Community Housing, and Paramedic Services within the Rainy River District.
The DRRSB Board of Directors consists of 13 members, with 10 members appointed by municipal councils and three selected by qualified electors of the Territory Without Municipal Organization (TWOMO) for a four-year term.
Ewald, who represents the Town of Rainy River, first took on the role of Chair for the organization back in 2019. Hallikas, representing the Town of Fort Frances, has been the Vice Chair since 2020.
“I am honoured to have been re-elected as Chair of the District of Rainy River Services Board. This vote of confidence from my colleagues inspires me to continue working diligently to address the needs of our community and to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our residents,” said Ewald.
“I am very pleased to be able to return as Vice Chair and thank the members for their support. Together with Debbie and the entire board, I look forward to building on the progress we’ve made and finding innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our community,” added Hallikas.
The DRRSB remains committed to its mission of providing quality, people-centred services in an efficient, affordable, and sustainable manner, stated a press release from DRRSB.
