Seniors’ gala still has tickets available

Those wishing to attend the “Hats Off to Seniors” gala next Friday (Nov. 16) had better act fast as time is running out to purchase tickets.
Nell Laur, a volunteer with Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.), said yesterday that the event is not sold out yet.
But she added organizers “are working hard at selling tickets, and if people want tickets, they better come buy them.”
While Laur said they would like to see as many people as possible attend, the deadline to buy tickets is next Wednesday (Nov. 14) so organizers have an idea of how many people to prepare for.
Tickets cost $25 each, which are available at Fort Frances General Supply, Safeway, and The Place.
The “Hats Off to Seniors” gala will be at La Place Rendez-Vous. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6.
In addition to the meal, S.A.L.T. said the event will be a chance to recognize several “individuals and organizations making outstanding contributions in support of lives of seniors and their families within the Rainy River District.”
“There are going to be awards given out in support of our endeavours,” noted Laur.
The evening also will include OPP Commissioner Chris Lewis as the keynote speaker, as well as musical entertainment by local talent.
