Sears customers by now probably have noticed the “Closed until further notice” sign on the store’s front door and seen the paper on its windows since Wednesday.
And now they may be wondering, “Where’s my order?”
“For that outlet, when people have ordered something, it will be mailed to their home,” a representative from the Sears Catalogue ordering office said Thursday morning.
“They won’t be charged any shipping charges,” she noted, adding that items ordered and not picked up at the store here before it closed its doors should be mailed to the customers, too.
In areas with more than one Sears outlet, orders would be shipped to another store for pick-up. But since the store here is the only one around, mailing is the only option available to the company.
As to why the local outlet is closed remains unknown. Owner Roberta Oliver could not be reached for comment today.
While several signs at the store also note questions should be directed to area sales manager Shelley Dickson, she couldn’t be reached before press time Thursday.
Dickson’s voice-mail at her office in Winnipeg noted she currently is in Fort Frances.
