School to be named Robert Moore

Press Release

At the Rainy River District School Board meeting last night in Emo, trustees approved the name Robert Moore School for the new facility scheduled to open in Fort Frances this fall.
The board’s School Naming Committee received a total of 40 submissions from community members and the families of students who will be attending the new school.
Robert Moore School was recommended to the board as the name that was the most popular of all submissions.
In recognition of the consolidation of two schools, the board will consider naming one distinctive part of the new building (i.e., primary wing, junior/intermediate wing, gym, library, or circle room) after F. H. Huffman.
The 51,000 sq. ft. school will house about 480 students from junior kindergarten to Grade 8.
Families can learn about the school’s construction updates, and view architectural renderings, on the board’s website at www.rrdsb.com
