Safeway keeps on fundraising

Starting tomorrow (March 1), Canada Safeway will start selling “Show Your Heart” coupon books in support of its “We Care” campaign to help local youth William Moody Jr.
The books, which sell for $3 each, contain coupons providing more than $100 in savings.
In late November, Canada Safeway staff chose Moody as the focus of their 2007-08 “We Care” campaign, and started raising funds in late January with the “Air Miles Bring Smiles” promotion.
As previously reported, Moody suffers from spina bifida and uses a wheelchair to get around.
As such, fundraising efforts will go towards buying a portable lift for Moody’s home to better allow him to go up and down stairs to leave or enter the house.
Canada Safeway is aiming to raise $15,000 to help purchase and install the lift.
Unlike previous years, the company has changed its focus from helping basically any non-profit group to adopting a specific individual with a disability or organization dealing with persons with disabilities.
