If a post currently being shared on Facebook regarding a $75 Safeway coupon sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is.
The hoax of a post claims Safeway is giving free $75 coupons to everyone as a means of celebrating its 50th anniversary, and invites users to click it to get their coupon.
According to website www.hoax-slayer.net, however, “the post is just another Facebook scam designed to trick you into divulging your personal information on suspect ‘survey’ websites.”
Those who participate have no chance whatsoever of getting the promised voucher, it continues.
Hoax Slayer also points out that Safeway was founded in 1915 so it is not celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017 as claimed in the scam post.
