Ryan profile

I was born and raised in Fort Frances, and have been a resident of our community all of my life.
Me and my wife, Gay, have been married for 36 years and have two adult daughters, both married, including Lisa Blanchard, who is a pharmacy manager in International Falls, and Karla Bodnar, who is a massage therapist and resides in Alberton.
We also have four grandsons.
I retired from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in 2000 after a 35-year career in the administration of highway and bridge capital construction projects.
During time off in the winter months, I was a member of the Fort Frances Curling Club board of management for 27 years and served as president for four years.
I also was a member of the building committee when the new curling club was built in 1992.
Due to my employment, I have never been able to donate any time and effort to enhance our community.
Now in retirement, out of a sense of community and responsibility, I can put some part of myself back into my community and this is the reason why I am a candidate for council.
I will use my experience in road building as it applies to the infrastructure in the Town of Fort Frances. But I am not a one-issue candidate and I do not carry with me the baggage of a personal agenda.
If elected, I will dedicate myself to deliver the best to the citizens of Fort Frances and face all the challenges of council with an open mind.
