Press Release
What a fun time we had at our first “Rock’n for a Reason.”
Local citizens joined us to raise $4,697, with more money still coming in, for hospital equipment and patients needs, which is the main purpose of La Verendrye Hospital Auxiliary.
We take this opportunity to thank all those who “rocked” for us and those who made pledges for our “rockers.”
We hold many events throughout the year to raise funds for the auxiliary and this was an exciting new venture.
Our members work hard, and enjoy good fun and fellowship when we come together.
We welcome new members and encourage anyone wishing to be a part of the auxiliary to come join us.
We hold a luncheon meeting four times a year and everyone is welcome.
Our members include both men and women, the young and not-so-young. The men particularly enjoy working the hospital lobby lottery in the afternoon.
The HELLP lottery funds go towards education and the purchase of hospital equipment.
Our next event will be the ever-popular “Strawberry Social” in June, where both hospital staff and town residents enjoy a great afternoon in the sun.
There is a book sale, bake table, a plant exchange, and, of course, strawberry shortcake for everyone.
The “Strawberry Social” has been a popular part of the auxiliary since it began.
Once again, we will offer two $500 bursaries to graduates of Fort Frances High School who plan to further their education in a health-related field.
While we break for the summer months, plans already are in place for our annual fall tea in mid-October.
This also is a wonderful afternoon with friends, good food, and plenty to do.
Memberships are accepted at this time, as well.
Come join us and be a part of an organization designed to help others in our health-care system.
Information and memberships are available in the hospital gift shop or by calling Susan Robertson at 274-7509.
