Robert Moore students plant trees

the F.F. Sportsmen’s Club

Grade 7 students from Robert Moore School planted more than 600 white spruce trees last week in the Fleming Road area.
Assisting the class, besides Mrs. Bodnarchuk, were vice-principal Mr. Keast, Zoe George, and Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club members Vic Alberts and Henry Miller.
During May, more than 1,500 trees were planted by this class, Mr. Hands’ Grade 3-4 class at Crossroads School in Devlin, and the local “Get Outdoors” club.
Most of the trees were provided by AbitibiBowater while the local stewardship council provided 200.
The project, organized by the Fort Frances Sportsmen’s Club and funded by an MNR CFWIP grant, went very well.
The adults were impressed by the care the kids took in making sure the trees were planted properly and by how hard they worked.
