Press Release
The Town of Fort Frances would like to announce that Travis Rob was the successful candidate for the position of manager of the Operations and Facilities Division.
Rob was born and raised in Fort Frances, and is a graduate of Fort Frances High School.
He attended the University of Manitoba and completed his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Rob’s career with the town began as a summer student with Operations and Facilities.
After his graduation in 2010, he was hired under a grant program as a Sustainability Co-ordinator for the division.
The following year, Rob became the Co-ordinator of Facilities & Special Projects, then in 2013, this role was combined with the office of the Chief Building Official.
Since that time, Rob has worked diligently toward earning the qualification of Chief Building Official while he served the public in this role.
Rob is an Engineer in Training (EIT) who soon will hold the designation of Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
He is a competent, intelligent leader with a well-rounded understanding of the town’s operations that will serve him well in his new role.
In his spare time, Rob enjoys fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his young family.
Rob replaces former Operations and Facilities manager Doug Brown, who recently was hired as Chief Administrative Officer for the town.
