RL Square meeting tomorrow

With work on the future Rainy Lake Square poised to begin, a stakeholder meeting is slated tomorrow evening (May 16).
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the committee room downstairs at the Civic Centre.
All property owners on the 200 block of Scott Street have been invited.
The purpose of the meeting is to outline the construction, timeline, and effects to property owners, as well as provide an opportunity for stakeholders to ask questions.
RML Contracting of Thunder Bay, along with a representative from architect firm Scatliff + Miller + Murray, will be on hand, as well as the town’s Operations and Facilities manager Travis Rob.
As previously reporting, RML Contracting of Thunder Bay will be constructing the square, as well as replacing the brick sidewalk along the 200 block of Scott Street and the block entry sidewalks at the Civic Centre.
The completion date for the Rainy Lake Square is mid-August.
The Scott Street sidewalk work is slated to be completed Sept. 8, followed by the Civic Centre sidewalk on Oct. 2.
In other future building project news, Tbaytel is expected to anounce the successful company contracted to construct its new central office in Fort Frances later this week.
Tbaytel reported it will make the announcement at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the future site of the office (650 Sixth St. West).
