Riverside to offer drive-thru COVID-19 testing

Starting May 11 Riverside’s COVID-19 Assessment Centre in Fort Frances will offer Drive-Thru testing for COVID-19 for those exhibiting symptoms. This form of testing will be completed while you remain in your vehicle, similar to any drive-thru service.

“With recent asymptomatic testing of residents and staff across Riverside Health Care, the drive-thru testing of symptomatic individuals allows us to improve access through increased convenience” said Julie Loveday, Vice President of Clinical Services & CNE.

Patients with any of the following symptoms are required to call Riverside’s COVID-19 Assessment Center at (807)274-3261 ext. 4913 to book an appointment. Drive-thru swab testing is by appointment only. Please have your Health Card ready when booking your appointment.

Symptoms which have been most commonly associated with COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • New onset or worsening cough
  • New onset or worsening fatigue
  • Sore throat/hoarse voice
  • Pink eye
  • Loss of appetite/Difficulty Swallowing
  • Headache
  • Nausea/Vomiting/Diarrhea or Abdominal Pain
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Runny Nose, sneezing or nasal congestion
  • Shortness of Breath*

*If you are having difficulty breathing or experiencing other severe symptoms, call 911 immediately. Advise them of your symptoms and travel history.

Drive-Thru traffic will flow off Sinclair Street and around the corner to the Victoria Street entrance. On-site directions will be given, and on-street parking spots are marked.

The COVID-19 Drive-Thru Assessment Centre will be open Monday, May 11 to Sunday, May 17, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will be reassessed for need and location at the end of that time.
