Riverside to launch public survey next week

Press Release

Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. once again will be gauging residents’ satisfaction with its services and facilities through a public survey being conducted from Feb. 22-28.
The survey was done last year during the same time period and garnered more than 400 responses from Riverside’s facilities across the district, including the Rainy River Health Centre, Emo Health Centre, Rainycrest Long-Term Care, Community Health Services, and La Verendrye Hospital.
The aim of the survey last year, and again this year, is to measure consumer satisfaction in the areas of privacy, safety, accessibility, parking, cleanliness, and customer service.
The survey is for out-patients and visitors only. It is not intended for admitted patients or those reporting to Emergency.
“We were very pleased with the results from last year,” said Riverside president and CEO Wayne Woods.
“We scored 4.64 out of a possible five, which is a very good score,” he noted.
“However, it does leave room for improvement and we’re hopeful this year’s survey will score even higher.
“We appreciate all feedback and view it as an opportunity to improve our services,” Woods added.
Last year, parking was identified as an issue, especially in front of the Community Health Services building located at 206 Victoria Ave.
“We have rectified this,” Woods said.
“In collaboration with the Town of Fort Frances and St. Mary’s Parish, we now have designated parking directly in front of, and adjacent to, the Community Health Services building for our consumers,” he explained.
“We are also implementing new policies and procedures on providing services to people with disabilities in keeping with the mandated requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act that was passed in 2005,” Woods noted.
The survey can be completed anonymously, with drop boxes to be available for completed surveys at all public exits.
Auxiliary members also will be assisting with the collection of surveys at some sites.
