Riverside staffers awarded bursaries

The Riverside Foundation for Health Care is pleased to announce this year’s bursary recipients.
The James & Ena McAughren Bursary for the continuing education of nurses was awarded to Mical Collition, who currently is an RPN at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.
She is enrolled in the BSc nursing program through Lakehead University in Thunder Bay in collaboration with Confederation College here in Fort Frances.
Dorothy Gamie, meanwhile, was awarded a $500 Riverside Health Care Bursary, which is available to all staff employed by Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc.
Gamie currently works as a cook at the Emo Health Centre, and is enrolled in the Food Service & Nutrition Management program through the Canadian Healthcare Association.
“We are pleased to assist Mical and Dorothy with their education goals,” said Foundation director Teresa Hazel.
“It is a good investment in health care!”
“We wish them both continued success in their educational pursuits and career goals,” Hazel added.

The Riverside Foundation for Health Care is a fundraising and granting organization dedicated to improving health care services for the residents of Rainy River District.
