Although Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s annual fundraiser isn’t slated until Feb. 28, tickets for the popular Campbell’s Cabins raffle, which will be drawn at that event, already are on sale.
“They make a perfect stockingstuffer,” said Foundation director Teresa Hazel.
The tickets, which cost $5 each, give you a chance to win a threeday, four-night stay at Campbell’s Cabins.
The second-place prize is $100 gift certificate from The Place while the third-place winner will get a “Pamper Yourself” package from Kettle’s and Jayne’s TLC.
Tickets are available from members of the foundation’s special events committee or directly from Hazel at 274-4803.
The 2004 fundraiser is entitled the “‘Chair’-ity Auction and Casino” and as the name suggests, it will follow the theme of chairs.
Since the summer, dozens of chairs have been created and/or decorated by local artists and crafters to be auctioned off at the event.
The evening of fun and “gambling” in the name of charity will take place at the Memorial Sports Centre.
In related news, Hazel noted Christmas has come early for the foundation as its annual year-end mail-out campaign has garnered $7,000 in donations from district residents.
As well, its third-annual wreath raffle—held Dec. 4-7 at La Verendrye hospital and then the Christmas Store—was more successful than ever.
This year’s event saw 19 wreaths, made by members of the foundation’s special events committee and some other local residents, up for grabs, which fetched $1,455.
