Riverside Health Care has drawn another winner for their ongoing fundraiser 50/50 draw, bringing in another sizeable chunk of support as they continue in their efforts to bring enhanced diagnostic imaging services to the region.
Riverside Health Care announced yesterday, November 5, 2025, that the October 50/50 prize went to Casey Badiuk, who took home $11,730 as the grand prize, with an equal amount going towards Riverside’s Lights, Camera, DIAGNOSIS! Campaign. The campaign is working towards bringing advanced diagnostic imaging technology to communities across the Rainy River district, and saving local residents the time and hassle of travelling to larger city centres for some medical and diagnostic procedures.

According to Riverside, Badiuk and the health care organization both had a dream come true with last months draw. Badiuk said she’d always wanted to hold a giant cheque, and Riverside realized its goal of passing $10,000 as a prize in their 50/50 efforts.
Badiuk shared with Riverside that the win felt especially meaningful, as her family welcomed a new baby at La Verendrye General Hospital within the last few weeks. Badiuk noted the care she received at the hoispital as being “excellent” and “compassionate,” which directly led to her supporting the campaign through purchasing a ticket, a move that paid off in droves. Even if she hadn’t won, though, she said supporting the campaign is worthwhile.
“It’s a no-brainer when even if you don’t win, the money is supporting your local hospital,” she said.
Riverside Health Care director of fundraising Holly Kaemingh noted that the campaign continues to see “incredible momentum” as they head towards their $1.6 million goal.
“We’re seeing incredible momentum with this fundraiser,” she said.
“Reaching and surpassing the $10,000 prize mark is a major milestone, and it’s only the beginning. November ticket sales are already off to a strong start, and we’re so grateful to the community for helping us bring advanced diagnostic imaging right here at home.”
Tickets for November’s draw are available now online at www.rhc5050.com, or those interested in purchasing a ticket can call 807-274-6635, visit the La Verendrye General Hospital Administration Office from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., or visit the hospital in person each Thursday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. inside the Main Entrance off Front Street. Buy your ticket early to qualify for the $1,000 Early Bird Prize, sponsored by The Barn.
“Maybe November’s winner will get to check a bucket list item off, too – but the biggest check mark of all will be Riverside’s ongoing progress toward improving the health of our communities and bringing state-of-the-art diagnostic care close to home,” Riverside said.
