Riverside begins third dose program

Press release

This week, in response to evolving data around the transmissibility of the Delta variant, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore revealed the province would begin recommending third dose vaccines to those at highest risk, including long-term care residents.

Riverside Health Care is pleased to announce that we will begin administering third dose COVID-19 vaccines to long-term care residents in our facilities in September. Our long-term care staff will begin the process of contacting residents and their families regarding consent for third dose vaccines in the coming weeks.

“COVID-19 has meant unprecedented challenges for so many, including residents of long-term care homes.” said Julie Loveday Executive Vice President, Clinical Services & CNE for Riverside Health Care.

“As we remain focused on our evidence-based and equitable approach response to the COVID-19 pandemic we continue to urge all district residents to remain vigilant. Wear a mask in public spaces, wash your hands, remember to physically distance, talk to your healthcare providers if you have questions, and get vaccinated. Everyone has a role to play in keeping our communities safe.”
