Alzheimer’s disease is increasing quickly within the Kenora and Rainy River districts, affecting not only the individual with the disease but many others who care for them.
Statistics show that for every person with Alzheimer’s disease, 10-12 others are directly impacted, including family, friends, co-workers, and neighbours.
More than 1,000 people have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia in the Kenora and Rainy River districts.
