Shaw Cable’s three-day digital cable orientation and sales session at La Place Rendez-Vous wrapped up Saturday a great success, company staff said.
“We had about 350 to 400 people sign up in the first three days,” said Mike Keating, regional sales manager for Shaw. “Usually when you launch a product, you get customers who want it right away.
“We hope word of mouth will draw others out.”
Shaw hopes to have 1,000 digital customers by the end of the month.
Keating said anyone still wanting to purchase digital cable can call the local office (274-5522) or drop in. The company is offering free installation to anyone signing up before the end of January.
All of its other special pricing will continue into February.
Shaw staff were very encouraged by the number of people who came out over the three-day open house.
“This morning [Saturday], we had 10 or more people lined up to get in at 10 a.m.,” said Keating, who was very pleased with the turnout and the number of people who signed up.
“I’m going hoarse,” added Debbie Mitrovic, cable sales co-ordinator for Shaw, who did most of the presentations. “Actually, they were very eager and came with a lot of good questions. They were very prepared.
“I saw a lot of people—not even sure how many,” she added. “But most moved from over there [the demo area] to over here [the sign-up table].”
