FORT FRANCES—Community Living Fort Frances and District is inviting the public to let their inner artist come out.
The association plans to have a large canvas primed and ready for people put their creative mark on during “Mall Days” here next Thursday (June 29).
Local artist Cher Pruys will have drawn in the figures for the public to paint.
“I’m really excited to see how it turns out,” said Faith Moen, communications/public relations co-ordinator for Community Living.
The theme of the mural is inclusion.
“It’s part of our community awareness campaign,” Moen noted. “We’re trying to promote inclusion for people with disabilities. The mural will depict people of all ages, races, and abilities.”
Community Living then will bring the mural to various events they attend, including carrying it as a banner during the Canada Day parade here.
Community Living, located at 340 Scott St., also will host a barbecue and face-painting during “Mall Days.”
Moen said the activities have been made possible through the sponsorship of the CIBC, St. Cyr and Associates, Sun Life Financial, Investors Group, and the Celebrate Canada Committee.
