A fun way to kick off the holiday season is awaiting at Fort High’s outdoor track, where a Reindeer Run, Walk, or Roll event will take place.
The holiday celebration, being hosted by Community Living Fort Frances and District , will take place this Saturday (Nov. 3) from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The event is free and all are welcome to attend.
Those who come out can participate in creating a jingle bell bracelet craft and receive a set of reindeer antlers, with all supplies being provided by CLFFD.
“We have had a lot of success with our Open Air Art Studios so I feel like tying that aspect into this will make it more appealing for people,” said Faith Moen of CLFFD.
Event participants are encouraged to walk, run, or roll around the track while decked out in their reindeer antlers to spread community cheer and get into the holiday season.
“It’s about diversity, and people having a sense of belonging and wanting to participate in something that is open to everybody in the community,” Moen explained.
“We’re just hoping that people come out to celebrate inclusion, make a fun holiday craft, and enjoy some hot chocolate and Timbits.”
Moen is hoping 100 people will show up to the event as that’s how many reindeer antlers are available.
“It would be kind of fun to see 100 people walking around that track with their antlers on,” she smiled.
She is encouraging everyone in the area to come on out and enjoy a community-oriented event.
“Come participate . . . have some fun making a Christmas craft, have some hot chocolate, be social, make a connection, and have some fun,” Moen enthused.
