Registration desk hours changed at hospital

Effective tomorrow, there will be changes to the hours of operation for patient and visitor registration at La Verendrye Hospital, Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. reported late yesterday.
The registration desk, located on the ground floor, now will be closed on weeknights (Monday to Friday) after 5 p.m., and all day on weekends and statutory holidays.
Previously, it had been open until 8 p.m. seven days a week.
On weekdays, from 6:45 a.m.-5 p.m., all visitors/patients to the hospital are to check-in at the registration/information desk for the following services:
•scheduled emergency visits;
•day surgery;
•scheduled admissions to hospital;
•physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology;
•clinical nutrition;
•chiropody;
•diagnostic imaging (X-ray, ultrasound, mammography);
•laboratory; and
•chemotherapy
While the Front Street entrance will remain open every day from 6:45 a.m.-8 p.m., visitors and patients to La Verendrye after 5 p.m. on weekdays, or anytime on weekends or holidays, now are asked to take the elevator or stairs and proceed to the information desk located on the first floor to register and/or obtain visitor passes.
This information desk is located across from the elevator when you arrive on the first floor.
Emergency patients
Until 5 p.m. on weekdays, emergency patients may use either the Front Street entrance or the emergency ramp entrance, and then report to the emergency registration desk located on the first floor.
Patients coming to the hospital for emergency services after 5 p.m. on weeknights, and on weekends and statutory holidays, are asked to use the emergency ramp entrance and report to the emergency registration desk.
Remember: When dropping off a patient for emergency on the ambulance ramp, your vehicle must be removed as quickly as possible.
In other news, as part of Phase IV construction, a temporary emergency department will open on Wednesday (May 4).
The department still will be located on the first floor of the hospital and accessible from the emergency ramp entrance. There will be no interruption to services.
