RAYMOND ROY

I am currently serving as a RRDSB trustee representing Fort Frances and Mine Centre. I have enjoyed this commitment and, if elected, look forward to another four-year term.
I have a strong governance background in education, where I chair the Audit Committee and am an active member of the Finance Committee, Negotiations Committee, and Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
In my community volunteer work, I serve as the vice-president, chair of the Finance Committee, and chair of the Building Committee for the Fort Frances Curling Club.
The role of trustee requires balancing our responsibilities and allegiances as representatives of our communities and ultimately make policy decisions that are beneficial to the entire school board.
As a trustee, I see myself primarily as an ambassador for student achievement and well-being.
The Rainy River District School Board must provide appropriate supports to ensure every student succeeds.
As a , I am committed to ensuring resources for numerous programs, such as Reading Recovery, Speech Language, and Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), are available.
Building teacher capacity through professional development and coaching, from School Support and Special Education Services, is critical to student success.
I will continue to support funding for all student support services, for example, mental health and autism support.
