An outbreak of Influenza A at Rainycrest Long Term Care Home has been declared over.

In a press release from Riverside Health Care, the organization noted that, in conjunction with the Northwestern Health Unit, the outbreak that had been affecting both the east and west wings at Rainycrest has now come to an end.

All visitor and resident restrictions have been lifted, though Riverside noted that facilities and staff continue to operate under enhanced masking requirements.

“At Rainycrest Long Term Care Home, masking remains required for all visitors, care partners, staff, and volunteers when in resident care areas and common areas,” Riverside said.

The health organization said it will continue to follow comprehensive infection prevention and control practices that are “designed to protect our residents, staff, and the broader community.

“We recognize the challenges outbreaks can pose for residents, families, and staff, and we thank everyone for their understanding, cooperation, and continued support as we work together to keep our care environments safe,” Riverside said.
