Significant rainfall is forcing the Town of Fort Frances to change its plans for the annual free tipping day.
Set to run tomorrow, Saturday, May 14, 2022, the rainfall received Thursday night into Friday morning has caused extremely wet conditions at the Fort Frances Landfill site, forcing the town to postpone the tipping day until Saturday, May 28.
The free tipping day was scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the landfill site and is only for garden waste. The town’s operations and facilities manager Travis Rob said that the the Ministry allows for the landfill to burn the wood and garden waste in controlled conditions.
For more information about the free tipping day, and to keep up with any scheduling changes, follow the town on their official Facebook page.
