R.I.D.E. check leads to charge

Shortly after 9 a.m., yesterday, members of the Rainy River District OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check.
Officers engaged a male and conducted an investigation at the roadside.
As a result of this investigation, a 46-year-old Atikokan man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level over .08 mg.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Atikokan on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m.
The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways.
Members of the public are urged to report impaired driving by calling 9-1-1 in emergency situations.
