The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring “Quest for the Best” back for another year.
With more sponsors than ever, the most prize money to be given away since “Quest” began, and a brand new format, this year’s competition promises to be the most exciting.
This year’s competition will feature a two-round format, with new entrants making up one group and returning “Quest” champions making up the other.
Individuals will place in their own groups, so there will be two first places and two second places for the evening.
New this year will be a final round, where the first-place winners from each round will “face off” in a battle round, singing one final song for the grand prize of $1,000.
“Quest for the Best” has been one of the most attended events in Fort Frances for more than 15 years, and has been known to draw crowds topping 2,000 people.
This event features the singing and musical talents of local amateurs age 13 and up.
“Quest” had its start with the old Little Amik Winter Carnival but eventually became a summer event, coinciding with the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
It has seen talents of all kinds hit its stage. Country crooners, rock-and-rollers, guitarists, and even dancers have competed in this local event.
The grand prize is sponsored by NCDS, with both first-place prizes sponsored by the Fort Frances Dental Centre.
Second place for round one is sponsored by Good Impressions Printing and second place in the second round by Super 8.
People’s Choice for the first round is sponsored by Holmlund Financial, with People’s Choice for the second set sponsored by McPherson Construction.
The Dark Horse award is sponsored by Daryl’s Custom Landscapes, the Audience Response award by ML Caron Electric, and the Show Sponsor award is supplied by B93 FM.
Tickets for this year’s “Quest for the Best” cost $15 each, which are available at the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce office and Canadian Tire.
