‘Quest’ planned for September

It appears “Quest for the Best” will be staged this fall in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce trade show instead of a summer event like Fun in the Sun or the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
“We decided to do ‘Quest’ with the trade show. It still has to go through the board of directors but ‘Quest’ and trade show committees agreed,” Chamber co-ordinator Dawn Booth said.
“The idea was brought up by a director and everybody went for it,” she added. “The trade show needs to be revived somehow and this maybe will do it.”
The trade show is set to run Sept. 21-22 at the Memorial Sports Centre but details beyond that are still on the drawing board, Booth noted.
“We’re not sure which night [‘Quest’] will be, or if it will on the ice or upstairs at the arena [auditorium],” she remarked.
But the popular singing contest likely will see the same format as past years–20 entries (soloists or duets) competing for cash or other prizes.
Booth added she didn’t know if there be a back-up band or “canned music.”
