‘Quest’ deadline nearing

Performers are wanted for this year’s “Quest for the Best,” with the deadline to register being this Friday (July 10).
“Quest” is set for the evening of Friday, July 24 under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina, in conjunction with the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.
What’s needed now are more singers to make the popular event yet another success.
“It’s first-come, first-served,” said Jennifer Soderholm, executive director of the Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce.
She noted a few contestants already have registered but she’s hoping to get all 20 spots filled by Friday.
“It’s usually such a big event,” Soderholm said. “Everyone loves to come out and participate and watch.
“We are really hoping it fills up quickly.”
Those interested in performing can register by dropping by the Chamber of Commerce office (located above the Northern Lights Credit Union) to fill out an entry form and pay their entry fee.
The fee is $30 for an individual and $45 for a duet.
Singers must be 13 years of age or older.
A back-up band will be provided. It will learn the song indicated by the contestant when they register.
Contestants can play an instrument if they choose, but it must be something they are able to carry on and off stage themselves (such as a guitar).
More details about “Quest” will be revealed shortly.
