The five Fun in the Sun queen contestants took to the stage for the annual Entertainment Night yesterday at Warp 9 as part of the competition leading up to the Canada Day crowning.
Each contestant prepared an entertainment piece, delivered information about her sponsor, and talked about her future career goals.
Liz Black read a poem she wrote about going to a party and the date rape drug. Shanna Ewald performed a cheerleading routine while Sonnie Martin did a dance routine.
Alyssa Holliday performed a talking version of the song “Earl Had to Die,” which included photos in a PowerPoint to tell the story.
Chelsea Bragg wrapped up the performances by singing “I Will Survive.”
The next event for the queen contestants will be a garage and bake sale this Saturday (June 24) from 8-11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit (the former Clendenning’s building).
In the week leading up to the crowning, the girls will be taking part in a fitness contest on June 27, “Mall Days” on June 29, and the Teddy Bear Picnic on June 30.
