Public library hosting book fair

Book lovers will have the chance to buy a variety of titles tomorrow when “Books are Fun,” a Winnipeg-based business, holds its second-annual book fair at the Fort Frances Public Library.
“We had a book fair around Christmas last year,” said head librarian Margaret Sedgwick. “We had a small problem with advertising last time.
But despite that, we still managed to do quite well.”
Sedgwick is hoping people will attend the book fair and browse through the numerous titles that will be on hand–perhaps even finding the perfect one to give as a gift for Easter.
“A book is the perfect present,” Sedgwick said. “When we were approached about holding the book fair, we thought it would be a lot of fun and would also be a great chance for people to buy their loved ones something special this Easter.
“We are really looking forward to it.”
“There [is] going to be a wide selection of books for people to choose from,” Sedgwick added. “There will be specialty books, as well as books for children and adults. Basically there will be something for everyone.”
People also will have a chance to pick up some other great gift ideas at the book fair, which runs from 2-8 p.m.
“There will be picture frames and gardening items for sale,” noted Sedgwick. “There will also be journals and a number of other things for people to buy.
“Right now we have one of the picture frames on display at the library, along with a variety of other things that will be for sale [tomorrow]. We certainly encourage people to come by and look at them.”
Sedgwick also said the prices are very reasonable.
“At 40 percent of the retail price, you are getting a pretty good deal,” she noted. “We always enjoy putting these types of events on because they are always a great deal of fun.”
The library will get a small portion of the proceeds for its own use.
