Public encouraged to give input on library

“If the town hall could be considered the brain of a municipality, then the public library is the heart—welcoming and nurturing all the town’s citizens.”         This is the philosophy of John Knox, vice-president of Chamberlain Architect Services, who has been hired to design the new Fort Frances Public Library.          The Chamberlain team brings a wealth of experience in designing public libraries in a variety of communities in Canada.
A firm with over 30 years experience, they are skilled in designing barrier free structures incorporating sustainable design and energy conservation.          Their knowledge and experience in current library technology will be invaluable in creating a new facility which fully supports the current and future technological needs of the community.
The Fort Frances Public Library Board is looking forward to working with a firm whose approach is: “Listen, learn, and lead.”
The new library steering committee has met with Knox and are in the initial stages of design. Now is the time for public input regarding what you would like to see in your “ideal” library.
Not every suggestion may be possible, but will be appreciated and carefully considered.
Drop off suggestions by Sept. 15 at the library or e-mail Margaret Sedgwick at msedgwick@fort-frances.com or Joyce Cunningham at joycec@jam21.net
