Fort Frances OPP officers, along with the OPP’s North West Region Crime Unit, continue to investigate the death of a Fort Frances man last week.
The investigation was initiated in the early-morning hours of Thursday (Dec. 18) after police were called to the emergency department at La Verendrye Hospital following the death of a patient.
Police this morning identified the deceased as Andrew Spellman, 20.
Investigators are waiting for the results of a post-mortem examination which was conducted Sunday in Toronto.
Meanwhile, police are seeking public assistance in this matter.
Anyone with information concerning this investigation, or who was in the area of the 800 block of Scott Street during the early-morning hours of Dec. 18, is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
