Police seek tips on stolen boat

The Fort Frances OPP is investigating the theft of a boat and motor.
Sometime last week, someone stole an Aluminaire skiff with a 25 h.p. Yamaha motor that was parked in the alleyway of the 600 block of Armit Avenue.
Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Fort Frances OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
In other news, a 39-year-old Couchiching man faces two charges after he was stopped by the R.I.D.E. program around 10 p.m. on Friday on the 900 block of Portage Avenue.
He was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and operation of a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol.
He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 4.

Hallowe’en safety
The OPP also would like to remind parents of some Hallowe’en safety tips:
•Plan and review with your children their route and what is acceptable behaviour;
•Agree on a time when children must return home;
•A parent should always accompany young children on their neighborhood rounds;
•Make sure your child eats dinner before heading out so they’re not as tempted to eat their candy;
•Inspect your children’s candy before allowing them to eat it; and
•Report any suspicious or unlawful behaviour to the police.
